Founder of Professional Physical Therapy, Inc.

Peter Guske founded, owned and operated a
specialized fitness gym in Jackson, Michigan in 1980.
While a competing strength athlete, he sustained a serious low
back injury. This injury, and his natural interest in
biomechanics, led him to his degree in physical therapy from
Wayne State University in 1986.
His personal experience with back pain and spinal rehabilitation provided the
impetus for him to investigate and personally experience the myriad of
ineffective and sometimes injurious treatment techniques
available. He subsequently developed the first rehabilitation
protocols for manufacturers of low back isolated testing
equipment while working in Los Angeles, California.
Specializing in spinal rehabilitation, he opened his own
physical therapy practice in East Central Florida in 1988. After
expanding the practice and relocating into his own building, the
clinical practice was sold in 2000. He has since
transitioned his career into the area of real estate development
and training and consulting in back and knee pain reduction/prevention in
industry and other settings. |

"From very early in my career, all the way to
the training and consulting that I currently perform, I have continued to de-emphasize
some well-accepted and established procedures. I have even taken what
some in my profession consider to be "extreme views" with regard to
certain areas of rehabilitation and healthcare. My direct personal experience has
been that many accepted methods are too often ineffective and sometimes
harmful. Of course we should all continue, in a scientific manner, to search
for better methods of rehabilitation. We cannot progress if we simply
repeat procedures which have become established..." Peter Guske PT |
